DynaBoo’s inspiration comes from an ongoing passion for creating intriguing spatial experiences combined with a design language that manifests curvatures and organic forms.
This interactive kinetic sculpture allows for active participation from the visitors of the Personal Statement event. Its full potential becomes evident with three participators trying to coordinate the movements of the sculpture which involves two persons turning each handle and a third person walking through the pathway. As the bamboo arms turn around the persons walking through, their spatial context and thus experience is changed. They will then have to decide whether to take a step forward or backward as a response to this change which is created by the other two participators controlling the handles.
Walking through DynaBoo symbolizes the journey of life. It has a start and an end, and sometimes it looks predictable, but most often it is full of surprises. Before taking each step, it is important to plan and prepare. However, as a result of our interdependence, paths sometimes change due to unforeseen obstacles, making flexibility and communication essential characteristics during this journey.
DynaBoo’s collaborative and dynamic structure highlights the – sometimes complex – interactions among people simply through play.
